Owner/Operator
Hello!
I previously owned and operated a pet sitting business for nine years while living in the San Francisco
Bay Area before moving to Colorado in 2008. In between, I worked as Office and Accounting Manager
for a French wine importer and also for CU Boulder when I arrived in Colorado.
Even though I miss the perks of working in the wine business, I am so very happy to be here in
Colorado operating The Contented Pet. What began as a pet sitting and dog walking business has
progressed into our home dog boarding business. It is a natural fit for me and perfectly blends my
“administrative/organizational” side with my passion for animals and the outdoors.
My husband Bill and I are enjoying running our boarding business together since he retired in 2019. It has been a wonderful experience and we will continue to enjoy providing a warm, loving, home setting for dogs while their people are away.
Since we have been in Colorado we have shared our home with a Golden Retriever, Lakota, a German Shorthaired Pointer, Poncho, and a few cats (Molly, Sarah, Minky and now Aldo). My childhood Siamese cat, Tiki, was a pampered indoor cat who lived to the ripe old age of 25. All of our cats and dogs have lived well into their senior years and therefore I feel that I have a special affinity and connection with senior pets and really enjoy taking care of them in their twilight years.
I have many cherished friendships with my clients from my previous pet sitting business, and I am looking forward to meeting you and your special dogs!
Best,
Shelley Dahme
