Shelley Dahme, Owner/Operator
Hello!
I’m very happy to have the opportunity to be back in the pet sitting business. I previously owned and
operated a pet sitting business for nine years while living in the San Francisco Bay Area before
moving to Colorado in 2008. In between, I worked as Office and Accounting Manager for a French
wine importer and also in an academic setting. Even though I miss the perks of working in the wine
business, I am so very happy to be here in Colorado operating The Contented Pet. It is a natural fit for
me and perfectly blends my “administrative/organizational” side with my passion for animals and the
outdoors.
My husband and I lost our German Shorthair Pointer mix named Poncho and our beautiful black American Shorthair cat, Minky last year. The house has been too quiet and so we have moved ahead with our plans to board a few dogs in our home. It has been a wonderful experience and we will continue to enjoy providing a warm, loving, home setting for dogs while their people are away. We also enjoy keeping chickens (for eggs) and ducks (for eggs and their delightful personalities) on our property west of Berthoud.
My childhood Siamese cat, Tiki, was a pampered indoor cat who lived to the ripe old age of 25. I have had the pleasure of sharing my adult life with a Main Coon cat, Sarah, a black and white American Shorthair cat, Molly, and a sweet black cat, Minky. All lived to be between 16-19 years of age. I feel that I have a special affinity and connection with senior pets and really enjoy taking care of them in their twilight years.
I have many cherished friendships with my clients from my previous pet sitting business, and I am looking forward to meeting you and your pets and am confident that ours will be a long and lasting working relationship as well!
Best,
Shelley Dahme
