- WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICE AREAS? For dog walking and pet sitting visits, I am servicing the city of Longmont. if you are interested in boarding your dog at my home, I live five miles west of Berthoud.
- ARE YOU LICENSED, INSURED AND BONDED? I am licensed through the City of Longmont, bonded and insured through policies offered through NAPPS (The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and would be happy to present a copy upon request.
- MY PET IS VERY PARTICULAR, WILL YOU ACCOMMODATE THEIR SPECIAL NEEDS? Every pet household is different, and I will work with you to meet any needs you have with regards to your pet's care.
- WILL YOU ADMINISTER MY PET'S MEDICATION? I am experienced in administering medication in the form of drops or pills, insulin injections and subcutaneous fluids and offer these services free of charge.
- HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK SERVICE? Please book service as soon as you know you will be going on a trip. The easiest way to remember is right after you book your flight! I will put you on my schedule and confirm the week before you leave to make sure we have a chance to discuss any new details about your pets or home that I need to know. If you do not hear from me, you MUST confirm with me to make sure that I have you on my schedule.
- HOW EARLY CAN I BOOK FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON? I will book up for the holidays so the earliest you can schedule your trip the better. For the Christmas Holiday I usually book up by December 1st.
- DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR HOLIDAY VISITS? I do have a single $10 fee just for the following holiday days: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.
- WILL YOU TEXT ME ABOUT MY PETS WHILE I AM AWAY? I will be happy to text or leave you a message about your pets while you are traveling.
- WHAT IF MY PET BECOMES ILL WHILE I AM AWAY? WILL YOU TAKE HIM/HER TO MY VET? I will have you fill out two Veterinarian Release Forms (one for your files and one for mine) on our initial visit that states that you allow me to take your pet to your vet if necessary. If anything comes up I will most certainly get in touch with you prior to taking your pet to the vet, however if you are not reachable I will always keep the health of your pet as my first priority and will take them in for care that is needed. I will take the form with me to your preferred vet which will allow me to act for your pet on your behalf. Any veterinarian fees are the client’s responsibility upon their return.
- WHAT ABOUT IF OTHERS WILL BE IN MY HOME OR ON MY PROPERTY WHILE I AM AWAY? I require that you notify me if others (housekeepers, gardeners, contractors, friends, family, so on) will be in your house or on your property while I am taking care of your pets. I will not split pet care with a friend/family member or come every other day to care for your pets. I prefer not to have any other non-professional accessing your home while I am working if at all possible. Too many times in the past someone has inadvertently let a pet out by accident or closed a door to a room where a pet is keeping them from food and water. It must be understood that this is my business and I will not be liable if there are others accessing the property at the same time. If anyone does show up that I have not been informed about I will call the authorities immediately, as the safety of your home and pets is my number one priority.
- DO MY PETS NEED TO STAY INDOORS WHILE I'M TRAVELING? I request that all pets are confined to your home or secured yard while in my care. I cannot be responsible for the well-being of free-roaming pets, as accidents or loss can happen as easily when you are home as away. I also request that all pets have collars and tags or are microchipped in the event that they need to be identified and found if somehow lost.
- WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE A WINTER STORM WHILE I'M GONE? In the case of inclement weather I will require the name and number of a person nearby that has a key and is familiar with your home and pets. While I will make every effort to make every visit, there may be some times that roads are closed or impassable in cases of winter storms. If a storm is predicted, I will leave extra food and water for your pets in case I cannot get to your home or if my visit is delayed.
- DO I NEED TO CALL UPON MY RETURN? I would greatly appreciate a quick text letting me know that you have arrived home as scheduled. My priority is the safety and well being of your pets.
- WHAT ABOUT IF MY TRIP GETS CUT SHORT? Likewise, please call or text if you come home early.
